Dr Susan Kennedy

Dr Susan Kennedy is a senior clinical psychologist and the Director of Colour City Anxiety Clinic in Orange.
Susan has over 20 years experience as a clinician and researcher, with children and adults, mostly in the Centre for Emotional Health (EHC) at Macquarie University and in hospital and community-based child and adolescent psychiatry (6 years as Director of the Child & Adolescent Anxiety Clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital). In 1997, she was responsible for the onsite establishment of the Anxiety Clinic at the Royal Far West Children’s Health Scheme in Sydney to provide treatment for children and adolescents from rural and remote NSW.
Susan has supervised trainee psychologists and psychiatrists, and conducted numerous workshops on the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders. Susan’s research into anxiety prevention and treatment has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. Her PhD thesis on early intervention for anxiety disorders was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Commendation for a research thesis.
Susan is one of the authors of “Cool Little Kids”, a parenting program for the management of anxiety in young children, and contributed to the development of materials used in the highly successful “Cool Kids” for children and “Chilled” for adolescents.
